Pasi
Physical Activity and Sport Insights (PASI) is a collaborative team of Australian researchers led by Professor Rochelle Eime, Federation University. Through its research and consulting work, PASI delivers insights that provide partner organisations with the evidence required to make investment, policy, management or marketing decisions.
Investigating sport and physical activity participation for evidence-based decision making for the sport, physical activity, health and wellbeing sectors.
PASI’s work includes:
Tracking participation and retention in sport and physical activity
Identification of the major influencing factors on participation and retention
Identification of the impacts of participation in sport and physical activity on physical, mental and social health and wellbeing
Developing meta insights: combining data sets to uncover deeper relationships between activity and wellbeing
Cost to Delivery and Play Sport Study
The Australian Sports Commission is working with the PASI team to understand the cost for local clubs to deliver sport and the costs for participants to play.

Analysis for major sports of continuing participants and those who have dropped out. This includes participation trends, demographics, barriers and facilitators, analysed by geographical location. This is vital information to guide recruitment and development strategies to gain, maintain and retain players and members.

Analysis and benchmarking of LGAs in relation to a range of indicators including: demographics, health, education and physical activity and sport participation and facilities. This is vital for community strategic planning in sport and recreation.
sports facility forcasting.
Analysis of sports facility requirements/provision both now and into the future. This is vital for facility infrastructure planning and development and to maximise participation in sport.

Analysis of the economic, health and social benefits of participation in sport and its return on investment value.
Geographical Information System.
A national geographical information system (GIS) for presenting spatial data relevant to all levels of the sport and recreation sector.
Consulting Services.
The PASI team is available to take consulting briefs involving sport and physical activity, and the interaction of participation and facilities provision with health outcomes
Database Development.
The PASI team has strength in developing, creating and monitoring database systems in sport and physical activity. These assist organisations to quantify their mission and vision and underpin strategic planning and solutions with a strong evidence base.
